Who runs TypeKO
TypeKO is an independent typing game operated by Campbell Barlow. During this friends-and-family test, contact Campbell using the channel through which you received your invitation for privacy questions or requests. A dedicated public contact address will be added before wider promotion.
Information we use
- Account information: your email, account identifier, nickname, sign-in details and chosen cosmetics. If you use Google sign-in, the sign-in provider supplies account details such as your email and display name.
- Game information: submitted speed, accuracy, scores, words typed, combos, timestamps and One-Shot attempts.
- Progress: trophies, referrals, earned gems, cosmetic unlocks and featured achievements.
- Guest information: a name you choose and a device-specific identifier stored in your browser to associate guest runs and limit One-Shot attempts.
- Technical information: hosting and sign-in services may process IP addresses, browser information and operational logs to deliver and protect the service.
What other players can see
Nicknames, submitted results, rankings, profile statistics, equipped cosmetics, trophies and collection books are public. Guest leaderboard names and results are public too. Your email, sign-in credentials, private guest identifier and purchase records are not displayed publicly. Invite-link controls and referral counts are visible only on your own profile; an invitation you share includes your nickname. Choose a nickname rather than personal information you do not want public.
Why we use it
We use this information to operate accounts and games, publish competitive results, calculate progress and rewards, prevent cheating and abuse, and diagnose faults. Where UK data protection law applies, the legal bases are performance of the service you request and our legitimate interests in fair competition, security and maintaining the game. Any future optional marketing or non-essential tracking will require an appropriate legal basis, including consent where required.
Browser storage and cookies
TypeKO uses essential browser storage for sign-in sessions, guest identity and names, referral attribution and game preferences. Clearing storage may lose guest progress and does not erase results already submitted. Hosting or sign-in services may also use essential cookies. TypeKO has not added advertising trackers to the game for this test. If advertising or non-essential analytics are introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated first.
Service providers and transfers
Lovable Cloud provides hosting, account services and game data storage. Google processes information when you choose Google sign-in; Google Fonts receives connection information when fonts load. Providers may process information outside the UK. Applicable international-transfer safeguards are required where data protection law demands them. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention and your choices
Account and game information is retained while needed to provide the service, maintain fair rankings and address security or legal obligations. There is no automatic expiry for game history during this test. You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Requests are subject to applicable law and identity verification; backups and necessary security records may persist for a limited period after deletion. Contact Campbell through your invitation channel. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children and changes
TypeKO is designed for adults, not children. If a child has provided personal information, contact the operator so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate. Material privacy changes will be communicated within the service. The date above records the latest revision.
